Hi all,

I’ve just introduced myself on the Introduce Yourself Board
I’ve never posted to a forum before.
My first post is not a happy one.

I have made an internet site *EDITED* to expose, “name and shame” Christoforos Karayiannas & Son Ltd. and what they have done to my family. They are property developers based in Paralimni and we were to buy a four bedroom detached house from them. No 30 Ayios Sergios in Frenaros.

On my site you can read our contract, see our photo’s, read all correspondence and even listen to the audio of our meetings with them. We have nothing to hide and now very little left to loose.

There is no defamation on my site. Examine the evidence for yourselves.
You will see how Karayiannas & Son deceived us before contract, now ignore that contract (deposited in the land registry) refuse to deliver our house and have kept all our money.

I have just read in the “Your Developments » Ayios Sergios. Frenaros” topic, that they are renting out OUR house. I’ll reply to that comment, in that forum when that shocker sets in. Plus I’ve got to talk again to our lawyer. It does show motive for their breach.
They will not profit from their actions!

You can read about how Christoforos Karayiannas was arrested for assault and Marios Karayiannas was arrested for criminal damage and follow their upcoming trial.

My case is NOT a complicated one. I show everything on my site which takes some committed reading.
There is a summary on the front page.
The letter I sent to them on the 13th Feb 2006 (on “their lies” page) is an important read.
I’ve put important quotes in the margins of all pages.
The audio is best studied with the transcripts. They are essential for anyone wishing to do business with Marios Karayiannas.

My family is now living in rented accommodation. We stayed silent for a year now in the hope they would do the right thing…they didn’t. It is now time to tell our story so others can learn from our mistakes.

I welcome constructive “objective” comments but please give me an idea as to how deep you studied my site and I’ll know where you’re at. We are gathering evidence for our court cases, if you can help us in any way please get in touch. If you prefer you can contact me in private.

This whole experience is just a setback and not a cancellation of our move to Cyprus. We still intend to settle in the Frenaros / Paralimni area.

Regards

Conor

Hi Connor

Welcome to the board, just for the record I am the moderator who removed your website links. Please take a moment to read some of the rules, one of which states that you are not allowed to post URL's into the main area. You can put a link to your website in your profile and people will be able to click and read it via your small www symbol but this will not appear until you have made a few more posts. This is a feature to stop people just popping in to spam.

I am not moderating anything else in your post, I understand your frustrations but please wait until your www link is enabled before trying to mention a URL address.

EDIT *I have just had a good read through your site, I do wish you well with it and I too would be mad as a hatter. Please remember that developers and retailers all visit this forum. If we were to make an exception and allow your posts to contain url's to external sources all kinds of accusations would start to fly around. Use this forum wisely and I am sure it will be a great aid in your fight to get justice. We have a very good legal guy who gives great advice, take a look at the Ask Nigel section*

Hi Connor,
Was fortunate enough to get the URL before it was edited out, will watch this with interest and I wish you luck with your case, I'm sure that it will be of interest to prospective buyers.

Apologies for the mistake with the URL in the main area.
I searched for the rules but could only find a “BBCode guide”

I understand now that if people wish to go to my site they click on my Profile and my link is there.
Thankyou

Thank you also to Tedbel , Road Warrior and journeyman for your kind words. Also to those who have just made contact privately.

Ristac – Thanks for your further comments. I had infact contacted Nigel yesterday and were in touch by email.

Cheers

Conor

No problem, it won't take you long to get the required amount of posts before your www appears. You do not want anything jeopardising your chances, the developer will no doubt get to hear of his name being mentioned on this board and as long as the board admin remains fair and impartial there hopefully wont be any problems.

Conor contacted me a couple of days ago & I've spent some time looking through his website. Fortunately he has all the evidence of what's happened, including recordings of conversations and 'promises' made by the developer.

I know I keep going on about this, but it's essential that when a developer 'promises' to do something you get it written into your agreement or documented - Conor has got his on tape, which should (hopefully) convince the authorities to decide in his favour.

Good luck Conor & keep us posted on progress.

Regards,

I was sorry to read about your experience. Its interesting how even when you manage to do all the right things, developers can still manage to foul things up. It would be much worse for anyone who was not as meticulous a record keeper as yourself, hoping for a good outcome for you.

What an awful story! I feel so sorry that you and your family have had this terrible experience. I am sure that thousands will have read your experiences with Christoforos Karayiannas & Son by the end of next week-- the internet has a knack of spreading the word.

Good Luck

Thank you all for the kind comments both in the public forum and privately via email and on the phone.

After a year, remaining quite until all avenues were exhausted, the last 5 hours since we posted have been emotional.

I see the site is suffering from heavy traffic at the moment; I will invest in a load balancing service.
The site is not going anywhere so please come back if it’s down.

Remember to return to this forum if you have any comments.

Thanks

I understand there are now two Pittadjis law firms. Originally father (George) and son worked together, but now I'm told they have gone their separate ways.

Could be just gossip of course.

Conor,

Good luck with this and I hope that it gets resolved to your
satisfaction asap and without further trouble!

Prior to this I hadn't really heard of any major complaints with them
but this is obviously unacceptable behaviour.

Looks like your posting has been read over a thousand times already
so it will get exposure.

Good luck!

Cheers

I remember that topic but sometimes the results of that can be very hard to deal with, Conor and Micheala have been brave enough to go this far in their quest for justice .

I hope they get it , this could have driven another buyer not as strong to suicide .

To be in that situation now when all you wanted was to live the dream , is more than some other person could handle.

Developers need to realise that any changes to the surroundings or site plans should be fed back to the buyers and when new sets of plans are issued that all parties involved are warned and given notice.

The feeling of turning up and finding out that a property is facing the "wrong way" or hemmed in by another building built by the same developer with no thought for his buyers is not acceptable and can cause enough stress to give someone a heart attack!!!

Conor

did you investigate this company before you decided to purchase from them? If they are as bad as you say, surely something would have come up.
I have to declare an interest here as I have a Karayiannas house and along with many others have been very happy with the quality of build and the pre and post sales service.
