I have heard that modern flat screen televisions can be chipped if brought from the UK, if this is the case is there any way I can find out if my television is suitable,
its a 4 year old "Sony" bravia , any help would be appreciated

Enter the set-up menu and look at the TV-System options if you can set this for B/G (its I for the UK) you will be O/K for Analogue TV. If and when Cyprus switches off Analogue timed for 2012, you will need to have a MPEG-4 decoder, you will find that your UK set probably has a MPEG-2 decoder built in, I bought my set in Larnaca 3 years ago and this was MPEG-2 and doesn't work with the transmitted Digital signal. If your set has a built in Digital subscription card reader ('CAM' conditional access module) you can buy a conversion card that will convert the inbuilt MPEG-2 decoder to decode MPEG-4, they are on ebay ex. Ireland for 45 euros.

Would anyone know how much it is for a blood test to be taken at Paralimni Hospital, being sent there privately but not sure of the fee, just don't want to turn up and not have enough money on me.

Is the cost proportional to the size of pool and how much will it cost approximately ? Then of course there is the de-winterization costs to take into account.

From anyone who does have experience of this can you say how much it saved you in electricity expenses after the pool was winterized?

Britain’s biggest building society Nationwide plans a full-scale onslaught to steal customers from the tarnished high street banks.

Last night it announced plans to slash overdraft charges and offer free travel insurance.

But in a shock move, it has abandoned its unique policy of offering free debit card transactions overseas.

From November customers will be charged 2 per cent for every cash withdrawal and all spending.

I think you need to check your facts & maths last week we only paid €74 for 3 adults & 1 Child with the vouchers on the monday 3x32=94 + 18 =112. there are no transfer fees if there are no title deeds transfer fees are paid to the land registery when property titles are transferred between owners.
get your lawyer to get it in writing what the amount is for.
if they refuse to sign surely they are in breach of contract.

While it is a well known scam and on a one bed apt over 5k euros very suspect, you must check in your contract in case you have unwittingly signed for this when you purchased. A low cap should have been put in on the sell clause for any fees incurred to transfer contracts but it depends on your Lawyer at the time? as pav has said you don,t have Deeds so no other fees should be obvious. I an assuming your property value is under the IPT limit. Apart from sewage and fees for transfer names on contract, nearer 1500 euros I would think. But this extract from Steve,s link says more

Most of your points have been picked up - but with regard to 'transfer fees' there will not be any.

Transfer Fees are payable when the Title Deed has been issued and ownership of the property is transferred to the buyer.

Clearly, as there is no Title Deed, there are no transfer fees to pay.

Since then I have received a refund of £180.98 which I have disputed as we paid more than that for the flight and also does not cover our rail fares. They have e-mailed me back saying that this is just one payment and the rest will follow. They stated that the cancellation was due to air traffic control strike, this strike was announced over 1 week prior to the date of the flight and all the other carriers flew in and out although everyone was delayed.

I am pushing for the 400 Euro compensation as I don't think that they can call a strike announced over a week ago extrodinairy circumstances, if the other carriers managed to fly in and out why can't easyjet. Just another excuse for a cancellation due to their staff shortages.

Just returned from sunny cyprus and the complex has a great feel and the development is lovely.

One thing to look our for are locals using the pool and the facilities to ensure we protect our investments plus the traffic attending the on site bar as locals like to drive at speed to the complex.

Developers still have an office on site in an apartment close to the bar and normally very helpful with any enquiries.

I notice previous posting said about claiming back tax how does that work any advice would be great.

Perhaps I should explain. The land owner is the people (developer) who owns the land, ie who has the title deed to it.

Until the division is done then you would own the beneficial rights to the property until the deeds are issued.

Unlike many developers, they haven't taken out any mortgage on the land (as I have been advised, and so the land the house sits on, is not at risk), and they don't want anyone else to have a mortgage on the land either, hence the cash buyer requirement.

I just wanted to send you lots of love and light. It always makes me sad at the news of any animals passing especially when they leave behind a heartbroken owner. So many animals cross over here without having felt the love that you and Sadie shared.

She was so lucky to have you and I know she is still with you in your heart and her memory will live on forever. Unconditional love never dies which is what you felt from her and she from you. That bond will remain for all time. She is safe and happy now and her spirit is free.
